An electrical short circuit caused a blaze which has happened at a 3-storey house in alley No 32 on Pham Van Nghi Street, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang, the Fire Fighting and Prevention Division No 2 said.

Some witnesses reported seeing thick plumes of black smoke rising from the house at around 3.40pm on 12 August.

Many residents living nearby, in prompt fashion, used portable fire extinguishers available here to try to extinguish the blaze, and then called to the fire-fighters for help.

Fortunately, a pregnant woman who had been trapped in house at that time was rescued from the fire.

Soon after, 4 fire engines, along with dozens of firefighters from the Fire Fighting and Prevention Division No 2, arrived on the scene quickly to extinguish the fire.

Thanks to the great efforts of the firefighters, the blaze was completely extinguished after 30 minutes.

All the furniture in the bedroom was burned down in the blaze.
