Warm-hearted students - teachers of blind pupils
Over the past 5 years, some students from the Da Nang University of Science and Technology have joined a volunteer team as teacher of pupils with visual impairments at the Da Nang- based Support Centre for Integrated Education Development.

As a result, since September 2013, a special class for these pupils has been opened at this centre.
The class operates in 3 evenings a week between 7.00pm and 9.30pm daily.
Amongst the voluntary teachers is second-year student Doan Thi Thanh Thao, who has become actively involved in teaching at this special class for 2 years.
Thao underlined that her purpose is to help bind pupils to review their school lessons, as well as to share her useful knowledge and good thoughts about life with them.
Like Thao, Doan Nghia Manh, a third year student from the University’s Electronics and Telecommunications Faculty, has been actively involved in this voluntary work for the last 5 semesters.
“I often teach blind pupils once a week. In addition to conveying my knowledge to them, I have told them about many interesting stories in the life, organised exciting games for them, and helped them clean up their school yard”, Manh added.
Pham Tran Nhat Tien, Head of the University’s social work team, said that the voluntary team members are willing to share their knowledge with blind pupils, and help them thoroughly understand about their school lessons.
Tien remarked that he and other voluntary members felt very happy when the centre’s blind pupils gained high marks at annual national senior high school graduation exams and outstanding achievements during the academic years.
