Businesses take good care of their employees
Over recent years, a large number of businesses operating in Da Nang have paid special attention to enhancing their operations, protecting their employees’ legitimate rights, promoting job security, and enhancing their living conditions.

Currently, the city is now home to 22,000 businesses, which has created employment opportunities for 350,000 job seekers in the city, and from neighbouring localities, and held the key to the city’s socio-economic progress.
Despite many challenges and difficulties facing them, many firms have ensured their employee benefit programme to their staff.
Recently, a ceremony has taken place in the city to honour 27 outstanding businesses for taking good care of their employees in 2018. Amongst the honourees have been 4 state-owned, 7 foreign-invested, and 16 domestic private companies.
The honoured businesses are worthy of great praise for their great efforts in enhancing their operation efficiency, whilst ensuring their corporate culture, business ethics, and social responsibility.
These enterprises have met the criteria, for more than 2 consecutive years, on ensuring job security, the enhancement of material and spiritual life, and the increasing income for their staff, as well as paying mandatory social, health, unemployment insurance for their employees.
In addition to offering assistances regarding accommodations and welfare services, the honoured companies has performed well in providing training for their staff in a bid to enhance their professional skills.
Mr Nguyen Huu Sia, the General Director of Da Nang Port JSC, affirmed, “Considering its employees to be valuable assets, the company has focused on enhancing their living conditions, encouraging the labour emulation sprit amongst its staff in an attempt to increase its productivity and ensure higher efficiency in its performance”.
Mr Ngo Xuan Thang, Chairman of the municipal Labour Federation hoped that the business community would continue to promote effective models in taking good care of their employees. In addition, Mr Thang remarked that his organisation would continue its efforts to enhance the living conditions of local employees.
The Japanese-invested Kamui Vietnam Co Ltd, located at the Extended Hoa Khanh Industrial Park was one of the 27 honoured businesses.
Apart from constantly promoting its production activities, enhancing its customer service quality, fulfilling its tax obligations, and complying with the national laws, the Japanese company has been highly praised for continuously enhancing the living conditions of its staff.

It is noticeable that 100% of the Kamui employees have signed labour contracts. The social insurance contributions are paid by both employer and employees subject to the contribution rate, of which the employer usually pays larger part. The Kamui employees earn an average monthly income of 8 million VND each.
Furthermore, each of the employees is offered a mid-shift meal worth 28,000 VND, takes a 30-minute break for each day of work, and received a monthly allowance of 600,000 VND in total to cover accommodation and travel expenses.
