During his meeting on Wednesday with representatives from businesses operating in the Da Nang Hi-tech Park, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Ho Ky Minh listened to their problems that caused difficulties in their operation.

The city leader introduced the participants to the establishment of the Authority of Da Nang’s Hi-Tech Park and industrial parks based on a merger between the Industrial Parks and Export Processing Zone Authority, and the High-tech Park Authority.

Accordingly, the new Authority is working under the direct management of the municipal People’s Committee.

It takes the responsibility for managing the Hi-tech Park and other industrial parks in the city, as well as providing public administrative services, and other support services relating to investment, production, and business activities, for investors operating in the Hi-tech Park and other industrial parks in the city.

Vice Chairman Minh underlined an urgent need to complete new management regulations as soon as possible to provide effective public services for enterprises operating in the hi-tech and industrial parks.

With regard to the city’s support policies for workers, it was announced at the meeting that, a public intra-city bus route connecting from the city center with the Hi-tech Park will be put into operation in December, hereby helping to reduce travel time to 30 - 35 minutes.

As for housing for workers, the municipal government has given a nod to the establishment of the Tan Ninh resettlement area and adjacent areas to the north and south of this venue as residential areas. Also, some of the city’s existing apartment buildings will be used to meet the housing demand amongst employees who now work in the Hi-tech Park.

Also at the meeting, a number of investors made suggestions on site clearance. The Long Hau JSC said that it has received only 17,800m2 out of the 116,944m2 of already-approved land due to some site clearance-related matters.

According to Ms Vuong Thanh Nga, the Head of the Planning- Construction and the Environment Board, the Hoa Vang District People's Committee will give priority to handing over the remaining land to the company by late this month

Meanwhile, another firm, the Vina ICT Co., Ltd now finds very difficult to make an environmental impact assessment report, whilst it has been granted an investment licence.

In regard to this matter, Vice Chairman Minh asked the municipal Department of Natural Resources and the Environment to appraise and approve the report made by this firm so that the Authority can grant a construction licence to it.
