VEC is required to ask the project’s contractors and consultants to continue monitoring the condition of the expressway in a bid to detect and resolve any potholes.

If VEC fails to repair the road within one day after detecting potholes or other signs of deterioration, the Ministry will once again suspend all toll collections on the expressway.

Meanwhile, the Directorate for Roads of Viet Nam will have to frequently check the route, and monitor road repairs if it deteriorates again.

Earlier on 11 October, the Ministry of Transport had suspended toll collections on the route to urge the investor to make thorough repairs to road surface defects along this expressway which was officially opened to traffic on 2 September to mark the 73rd National Day.

Stretching nearly 140km and linking with the National Highway No 1, the over 34,500 billion VND expressway runs through Da Nang, and Quang Nam and Quang Ngai provinces.
