A widespread soaking rain is forecast for Da Nang and elsewhere in the mid-central region with thunderstorms continuing into Wednesday as a low pressure system and its associated cold air approach, the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting warned.

Total rainfall for localities from Quang Binh to Quang Tri provinces is expected to be widely 40 to 70mm per day, and even over 200mm in some parts of these localities. For Thua Thien Hue Province, rainfall accumulation is expected to be 100 to 200mm, up to 150mm in Da Nang, up to 300mm in Quang Nam and Quang Ngai.

Noticeably, there is a significant risk for flooding, especially in rivers from Quang Tri and Binh Thuan provinces, including Da Nang, with the threat of flood levels 2-3.

There will be a high risk of landslides at some vulnerable lowland areas in these localities.

Into Wednesday, Da Nang is forecast to see cloudy weather, and heavy to very heavy downpours, and thunderstorms.

North-easterly winds at level 2-3, the temperatures hovering at between 21 to 27 degrees Celsius, and the humidity of 75-77% are possible in the city in the coming days.
