Female artist Xuan Ha of Da Nang will introduce her site-specific installation in HCM City on Sunday night. The event, ‘Toi Nho Huong Quyt Nhuong Nao’ (How I Miss the Taste of Tangerine), connects objects, photos, film and music to highlight the artist’s messages about urban life.

Each of her works in different media explores the relationship between people and the natural world. 

Guests can watch a video featuring the earth and human beings in 2080, when people have relocated to Mars. The video also features the themes of pollution and climate changes.

‘Toi Nho Huong Quyt Nhuong Nao’ asks viewers to think about how their acts today can affect life tomorrow.   

Ha is an independent filmmaker, painter and curator. She began working with installation in late 2015 in HCM City. She has worked with Vietnamese and foreign artists and curators.

Her art is inspired by women, who are “an endless inspiration”, she said.

In 2016, she and her partners opened Chaosdowntown, a contemporary art space to support local and international young artists and art practitioners in HCM City.

Last year, Ha displayed her works at the Asia Culture Centre Network residency programme in Gwangju. 

Ha’s solo showcase, ‘Toi Nho Huong Quyt Nhuong Nao’ , will open at 6pm on Sunday, 9 March, at San Art Gallery, 132 Ben Van Don Street, District 4.
