Following recent approval by the Da Nang authorities, more free wireless internet (WiFi) systems will be installed in worker-packed residential areas.

Accordingly, the municipal Department of Information and Communications will join forces with the city’s Trade Union and functional bodies to develop detailed plans, and make cost estimates, and then submit them to the municipal People’s Committee for consideration.

Da Nang officially started to deploy a project on installing WiFi stations at public places in November 2012. 

The city became the 4^th locality in Viet Nam to provide free-of-charge wireless access throughout the city after Hoi An, Ha Long, and Hue.

To date, there have been a total of 430 WiFi stations across the city, facilitating local residents, businesspeople and visitors to easily access free WiFi services.
