Seriously injured fisherman safely brought back to mainland
A sick crew member of fishing boat QNa 90767 TS from Quang Nam Province was safely brought back to Da Nang for treatment on Thursday evening.

At 12.05 pm on 28 March, the Viet Nam Maritime Rescue Coordination Centre (Viet Nam MRCC) received an SOS message from fishing boat’s captain Le Van Hien from Tam Giang Commune, Nui Thanh District, Quang Nam Province.
19-year-old fisherman Duong Anh Nam was reported that he had a severe neck injury. The victim was in a very critical condition with severe blood loss, and he was semiconscious. In addition, he couldnot eat or drink.
At that time the vessel was fishing at latitude 16°35’N and longitude 109°40’E, about 88 nautical miles east-northeast of the Da Nang coast.

After receiving the SOS message Viet Nam MRCC immediately helped the boat’s crew members to contact doctors from the city’s Emergency Centre 115 to ask for first aid instructions.
Besides, the Viet Nam MRCC asked the Da Nang MRCC to send out its rescue ship SAR 412, carrying doctors from the city’s Emergency Centre 115, to help the injured fisherman.
At 5.05pm on the same day, SAR 412 reached the fishing boat and the sick fisherman was, then, transferred to the rescue ship for initial first aid.
At around 8.00pm that day, the victim was safely brought back to the mainland for further treatment at the Da Nang General Hospital.
