The Songhan Incubator (SHi) in Da Nang has launched the Viet Nam Tourism Startup (VTS) programme 2019 nationwide with the aim of selecting the most outstanding start-up projects in tourism.

Accordingly, VTS 2019 will feature 4 stages.

In detail, the 1st stage will run between 15 January and 11 May. During that period, around 100 potential start-up project developers will attend training courses in Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City, and Ha Noi in order to learn about creative and design thinking, entrepreneurial spirit, and teamwork skills.

Based on the rigorous selection criteria, between 20 and 30 outstanding project developers nationwide will be selected to work directly with mentors and start-up lecturers from the Dutch Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development in the 2nd stage from 12 May - 22 September.

SHi and domestic experts will together provide useful advices for the projects to help them perfect their ideas. In addition, the projects will become active involved in surveying markets, interviewing customers, developing product models, and assessing the feasibility of their products.

During the 3rd stage of the programme from 30 September - 22 December, between the 10 and 15 best projects will receive in-depth consultations from the startup specialists about how to build strong teams, ensure the effective operation, and expand customer markets, especially to connect with investors.

In the 4th stage between 5 January 2020 and 30 June 2020, these projects will continue to receive much support from startup mentors to boost the connectivity with potential customer markets, and attract even more domestic and foreign investment.

Launched for the first time in 2017, the VTS programme aims to create new tourism products, and fully tap the great tourism potential of Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole.
