City braces for sweltering temperatures
Da Nang and elsewhere in the mid-central region are experiencing an intense heatwave due to the influence of the developing southern low pressure trough associated with a strong foehn wind in the southwest region, according to the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.
The current hot spell is likely to continue heating up the central regional localities in the next few days.
Today, 20 April, highs soar between 37 and 39 degree Celsius on the average temperatures in the daytime, and even between 40 and 42 degree Celsius in some parts of the mid-central region, especially from 10.00am until 4.00pm.
Meanwhile, the lowest humidity is reported as between 35 and 45%.
In particular, Da Nang is experiencing sunny weather in the daytime with the highest temperatures ranging from 36 to 38 degrees Celsius, whilst the lowest humidity is reported as between 45 and 55%.
In particular, tornadoes, lightning, and thunderstorms will be possible in vulnerable areas in the region’s mountainous areas in the late afternoon and evening due to the effects of extreme hot spells.
