Following recent approval by the Da Nang People’s Committee, the operation of the Han River Port will be temporarily suspended from 13 May to 14 July in order to make way for the organisation of the upcoming Da Nang International Fireworks Festival (DIFF) 2019.

Because of the Han River Port’s temporary shut-down, the former Song Thu (Thu River) Port and a part of the Binh Hien-Binh Thuan commercial and service complex area managed by the 319 Corporation under the Ministry of Defence will be used temporarily for the anchorage and operation of tourist boats.

Accordingly, nearly 1 billion VND from the city’s transport infrastructure development funds will be spent on moving such infrastructure items as container offices, ticket counters and isolation barriers from the Han River Port to this temporary anchorage location. Also, lighting and security systems, along with auxiliary facilities will be set up here.

All the work items are scheduled to be completed by 16 May.

The Han River Port’s premises will be then handed over to the Sun Group in preparation for the DIFF 2019.
