Since the start of this year, the tourism sector has implemented numerous promotion activities, and promoted its publicity activities in the mass media.

Preparations have been made for much-awaited events of the year, including the Da Nang Beach Tourism Season and the Da Nang - Summer Rendezvous programme.

The Deputy Head of the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beaches, Mr Phan Minh Hai, said every summer day local beaches welcome thousands of beach-goers. His unit, therefore, has given top priority to rescue work at beach.

“Over the past years, the Management Board has equipped a lot of such modern rescue equipment as speech-boats, water motorcycles and handheld walkie talkie in order to enhance the professionalism of the rescue at beach” Mr Hai added.

In addition, the Management Board has increased the efficiency of publicity activities through widely distributing advertisement leaflets in English, South Korean, and Chinese languages.

The focus has been on placing warning signs in many foreign languages at beach, standardising systems of rescue flags and signs, and giving instructions about safe swimming for swimmers.

Currently, 111 families and 9 others are offering beach services along the Hoang Sa-Vo Nguyen Giap route, and the Nguyen Tat Thanh street, respectively.

The management board has encouraged these service providers to upgrade their infrastructure, install surveillance cameras and lighting systems, and display the prices of their services.

In addition to upgrading tourism infrastructure, the tourism sector has taken stronger measures to deal with the harassment of visitors, and illegal vending, as well as ensure environmental sanitation, food safety and security at beaches and attractions. The intention is to make visitors feel more comfortable and stimulate them to stay longer and spend more money in the city.
