At about 7.45 am on Wednesday, a fire broke out on the 2^nd storey of a house located at alley No 75 on Le Hong Phong street in Hai Chau District’s Phuoc Ninh Ward, Da Nang.

The 2nd storey of the house was completely destroyed in the fire.

The neighbours said that a large volume of black smoke was billowing from the burning floor. They managed to stamp out the fire with a small fire extinguisher but they were unsuccessful. They then rang firefighters for help. 

At the time, the neighbours found 80-year-old Luu Van Ph who was a paralysed man, being trapped in the fire, so they tried to bring him out of the burning house to safety. 

After receiving an SOS message from the witnesses, the district’s Division of Fire Fighting and Prevention sent immediately fire engines and firefighters to the scene.

Thanks to the great efforts of the firefighters, the blaze was completely extinguished. However, the 2^nd storey, plus many item inside, were completely destroyed.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
