Da Nang is facing sweltering temperatures as an extreme heat wave continues to sweep across the mid-central region. The hot weather set to continue into the next 5 to 7 days, according to the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting.

Accordingly, the average high temperature in the daytime is hovering at between 34 to 37 degrees Celsius in the daytime, and even over 37 degree Celsius in some parts of the mid-central region, especially from 11.00am until 3.00pm.

Meanwhile, Da Nang is bracing itself for the hot temperatures of between 33 and 35 degrees Celsius. The lowest humidity is reported as between 60% and 65%.

Temperatures are forecast to rise significantly across the coastal city from 17 - 19 May, with forecasters predicting temperatures to soar to over 40 degrees Celsius.
