Temperatures hit 40 degrees Celsius across the city
Scorching temperatures are sweeping across Da Nang as heatwave conditions hit the Mid-Central Region. The Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting has forecast temperatures will hit 40 degrees Celsius on Saturday and Sunday.
Today, the districts of Lien Chieu, Thanh Khe, Hai Chau, Cam Le and Hoa Vang are reeling under scorching heat with forecasters predicting temperatures to soar between 38 and 40 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the lowest humidity is reported as between 35 and 40%.
In Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts, highs soar between 37 and 38 degree Celsius on the average temperatures in the daytime, and even over 38 degree Celsius, especially from 10.00am until 4.00pm. The lowest humidity is reported as between 40 and 45%.
A warning about the risk of fires spreading in the hot weather has been issued by the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting as the hot weather is set to continue into the next few days.
In addition, tornadoes, lightning, and thunderstorms will be possible in vulnerable areas in the city in the late afternoon and evening due to the effects of extreme hot spells.
