Da Nang’s population has risen by 250,000 to 1,134,310 over the past decade, of whom 576,000 are male and over 558,000 are female.

The city’s population density is now 883 people per sq, with an average of 3.6 people per household.

These figures were officially released by Deputy Head of the municipal Statistical Bureau Tran Nam Trung at Thursday’s teleconference which announced the preliminary results of the 2019 National Population and Housing Census.

It was announced at the event that the country’s population rose by 10 million to 96.2 million as of April 2019 compared to 10 years prior, making Viet Nam the third populous nation in Southeast Asia and 15^th in the world.
