The Son Tra Book Fair 2019 is taking place from 17 - 21 July at a park on Tran Hung Dao, near the eastern end of the Rong (Dragon) Bridge in An Hai Tay Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang.

Themed ‘Books - Cultural Festive Day in Son Tra District’, the event features a total of 55 stands which introduce new and interesting books by the Ho Chi Minh City-based Fahasa Publishing House, the Hue Old Book Store, and the Da Nang General Science Library, 8 junior high schools, English centres, arts companies, and poetry, and Han Nom clubs across the district.

Besides, there are some fascinating exchange activities between local readers and renowned domestic poets and writers, nightly musical programmes, folk games, calligraphy writing, and lion dancing.

In addition, a wide range of exciting cultural activities for kids are being held during the fair, including kids talent seeking, drawing contest on the theme of the country’s sea and islands, and book-related story telling.

Meanwhile, the city’s General Science Library gives free member cards for its readers.

Also at the fair, the 'Community Bookshelves' campaign is launched with the purpose of encouraging individuals and organisations to present books to the Son Tra District authorities. These items will be then go to school libraries, book reading rooms, public book café parks, and public bookcases in the district.
