Sweaty weather continues to bake the city into next days
High temperatures are expected to continue to scorch mid-central regional localities from Thua Thien- Hue to Quang Ngai, including Da Nang, in the upcoming days, the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting has warned.
The current unpleasant weather pattern is directly caused by the influence of the developing southern low pressure trough associated with a strong foehn wind in the southwest region.
Average highs now range between 34 and 37 degrees Celsius in localities from Thua Thien- Hue to Quang Ngai, even 37 degree Celsius in some of their parts.
Mercury can remain above 35 degree Celsius from 10.30am until 4.00pm. Meanwhile, the lowest humidity is reported to hover at between 45 and 60%.
In Da Nang, soaring heatwave conditions are likely to continue to prevail the districts of Hoa Vang, CamLe, Lien Chieu, Thanh Khe and Hai Chau into the days to come as maximum temperatures are predicted to reach 37 degree Celsius. The lowest humidity is reported to hover at between 50 and 57 %.
Meanwhile, weather in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son is likely to be quite a bit cooler than that recorded in the above-mentioned districts as their temperatures soar to only 36 degree Celsius. The humidity level is expected to be as low as between 55 and 60%.
Noticeably, the choking heat is prompting the risk of forest fires in midlands and mountainous areas, fire and explosion hazards in residential areas due to electric energy consumption, and the probable outbreaks of epidemics sparked by blasts of hot air.
