The city’s first two cases of the coronavirus were confirmed in two British visitors who were among passengers who flew with a 26-year old woman returning from Europe on 2 March, and she was then confirmed as Viet Nam’s 17th Covid-19 patient on 6 March. The foreigners tested positive for the virus on 8 March.

Meanwhile, a 29-year-old female resident of Da Nang became the third case to be diagnosed with coronavirus in the city on 11 March. She had close contact with the British guests at her working place, the Dien May Xanh electronics supermarket on Nguyen Van Linh Street.

Currently, the three infected patients are quarantined and treated for coronavirus at the Da Nang General Hospital.

The Britons tested negative for the virus three times in a row on 19, 23 and 25 March after a nearly two week-long treatment at the hospital.

Also, tests on the city’s 3rd infected patient came back negative on 20, 23 and 25 March.

At present, the three infected patients no longer have symptoms of the virus, and they are expected to be discharged from the hospital today, 27 March.
