Vietnamese returnees and international arrivals from Italy test negative for coronavirus
Tests for coronavirus on 52 Vietnamese citizens and 3 Italian nationals arriving in Da Nang from Italy on a specially-arranged Vietnam Airlines flight 9054 have come back negative, Director of the municipal Centre for Disease Control Ton That Thanh announced on Saturday afternoon.
The returnees are Vietnamese citizens who study, work and live in Italy’s regions hard hit by the disease, returning home due to Covid-19.
Director Thanh remarked although their test results showed negative, all of them remain under observation in the city's designated sites for 14 days.
The Vietnamese returnees are being placed in isolation at the Dong Nghe Training Centre in Hoa Vang District's Hoa Khuong Commune, whilst the Italian nationals are staying in quarantine at a hotel on Quang Trung Street, Hai Chau District.
Medical staff will closely monitor all of them during their 14-day quarantine period, including by checking their body temperature at least twice daily, requiring them to gargle with salt water, to keep the hands, foot and face clean to prevent the spread of infections.
