Da Nang begins to impose restrictions to stop the spread of coronavirus at 1.00pm today
Da Nang government is continuing to put in place infection prevention and control measures following Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc's Directive No 19 after two new coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Da Nang. Da Nang authorities began to impose new tight restrictions on their populations at 1.00pm today, 26 July, in a bid to prevent Covid-19 transmission in their community.

Da Nang's residents are required to strictly follow the new measures, including using face coverings in public places. In addition, people are urged to wash their hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, and if soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. Also, peope are advised to try to stay 1 metre away from anyone they do not live with when outside their home.
All public gatherings of more than 30 people are banned, except for in offices, schools and hospitals.
Such large group activities, including religious festivals and sports events, are suspended. Meanwhile, non-essential businesses and services, including bars, discos, karaoke and massage parlors, and discotheques, have operation halted temporarily.
Markets, supermarkets, shopping centres and stores that sell essential items, plus serviced accommodation establishments and restaurants, are allowed to stay open but they are required to strictly implement infection prevention and control measures. In particular, they are urged to ensure enough supplies of face masks and alcohol-based hand sanitiser for their staff and visitors. Also, they have started to take the temperature of all their staff and guests in a bid to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Passenger transport service providers are allowed to operate but they are required to strictly follow the city's restrictions. Their vehicles are required to be disinfected after their journeys end, and all passengers are urged to use face coverings and clean their hands before getting on/off vehicles.
Factories, production facilities, and construction sites are allowed to remain operation but asked to take drastic actions to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus.
Tourist sites and entertainment facilities temporarily close their doors. Recreational activities in hotels and resorts, and casinos, plus and prize-winning electronic games for foreigners, are suspended.
Nurseries, schools and universities citywide will be closed for 2 weeks.
Da Nang General Hospital put into lockdown after two patients tested positive for coronavirus
The Da Nang Genenral Hospital was placed under lockdown for 14 days at 1.00pm today, 26 July, after Viet Nam's 416th and 418th coronavirus cases confirmed in the city who had come to the hospital for medical examinations have tested positive for the virus.
Relevant agencies are asked to ensure sufficient supply of essential necessities and food to all medical workers, and inpatients and their caregivers during the lockdown.
The Da Nang government has issued quarantine order to the hospital for the sake of public health amid coronavirus outbreak.
