Perhaps, we have never witnessed a grand spike in Vietnamese national solidarity such as the one in our tough fight against fresh Covid-19 outbreaks in Viet Nam. Photos, recently taken in the Da Nang General Hospital, showing the image of doctors in stuffy protective gears amid the scorching heat blanketing the city, has gone viral on the social network Facebook over recent days, with thousands of Facebook users liking, commenting on, and sharing the content.

One of the deeply touching photos of the 'white angels'

The photos, which came amid the stressful times for everyone, totally touched the hearts of millions of Vietnamese people with their great love and wishes for this hospitable coastal city in Central Viet Nam.

The doctors on the spotlight of the photos are talented, experienced ones from Viet Nam’s two largest medical establishments, namely Ho Chi Minh City-based Cho Ray and Ha Noi-located Bach Mai hospitals.

These ‘comrades in white’ have left their beloved families to join the frontline in Da Nang’s tough battle against the novel coronavirus.

At midnight, many downtown streets across the city with a population of about 1 million are almost deserted, with few road users traveling there, and the quiet ambiance is blanketing local residential quarters during the ongoing social distancing period.

Meanwhile, inside special isolation areas of the Da Nang General Hospital, the lights are still bright as hundreds of medical workers exert their efforts to treat Covid-19 patients..

Long hours in medical gowns and personal protective equipment proved to be extremely uncomfortable to doctors. As no relatives of patients are allowed inside, the nurses must step in to undertake all care work for them, from feeding and showering even to changing their diapers.

Also, many 'white army'- health workers in Da Nang have been taking an extra mile to bring smiles on their patients' faces, and to comfort them by singing for them and extending words of great encouragement.

Da Nang, actually, is not left alone during this prolonged Covid-19 battle. The city is now receiving active support from other localities nationwide with their supplies of equipment and human resources. In addition, the Ministry of Health has already sent three special task forces in charge of helping Da Nang fight the virus insurgence.

People from all demographics of the society are showing their love and appreciation for all medical workers fighting the Covid-19 crisis.

Now, all of us would like to wish ‘white angels’ great health and safety to fend off the disease till its end. All hardships are domitable as long as we keep pushing ahead. We believe in each other and follow the Vietnamese national government’s guidelines. We will win this battle!
