Seven new community transmission cases in Viet Nam, four confirmed in Da Nang and the two others in Quang Nam

Seven new community transmission cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Viet Nam, taking the country's total to 438, the Vietnamese Ministry of Health announced on Tuesday evening.

Among the latest patients are 5 cases linked to the Da Nang General Hospital.

Specifically, patient No 432 is a 63-year-old woman, a resident of Ai Nghia Town, Dai Loc District, Quang Nam Province. On 18 July afternoon, she attended a wedding party at the For You Palace Convention Centre located on 2 September Street which was also attended by "Patient 416," Viet Nam's first local infection in 100 days. Her test results came back positive for the new virus on 27 July.

Patient No 433 is a 67-year-old female resident of Dien Tho Commune, Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province. From 13 to 16 July, she took care of her husband at the Neurology Department of the Da Nang General Hospital.

On 20 July, she showed the symptoms of mild fever and cough, and she treated herself at home with private medics.

On 25 July, the woman was treated at the province’s Vinh Duc General Hospital before she tested positive three days later.

The 434th patient is 71-year-old woman residing in An Hai Dong Ward, Son Tra District, Da Nang.

On 26 July, she visited the Police Hospital No 199 for medical examinations after showing the most common symptoms at onset of COVID-19 including fever, cough, and tiredness. At 9pm on the same day, she was transferred to the Son Tra District-based Medical Centre for medical treatment.

On 27 July, she had her throat swabs and blood samples taken to test, and her test results came back positive for the virus.

Patient No 435, female, 29, is a staff member of the Department of Traditional Medicine at the Da Nang General Hospital. She is now residing in An Hai Dong Ward, Son Tra District. She tested positive for the new virus on 27 July.

Patient No 436 is 66-year-old male resident of Dien Trung Commune, Dien Ban Town, Quang Nam Province. Before being diagnosed with Covid-19, he received medical treatment at the Department of Intensive Care and Anti-Poison of the Da Nang General Hospital.

Patient No 437, male, 61, is residing in Hoa An Ward, Cam Le District, Da Nang. He is a patient of the Department of Intensive Care and Anti-Poison of the Da Nang General Hospital.

Like patients No 436 and 4377, the patient No 438 is a patient of the Department of Intensive Care and Anti-Poison of the Da Nang General Hospital. He is now residing in Tam Thuan Ward, Thanh Khe District, Da Nang.

Over the past 4 days, the number of cases in the community in Viet Nam has increased to 22, 18 of whom were confirmed in Da Nang, one was detected in the central province of Quang Ngai, and the 3 others were reported in Quang Nam Province.
