Eleven new community transmission cases in Da Nang, taking Viet Nam's total to 431
Eleven new community transmission cases of coronavirus have been confirmed in Da Nang, taking Viet Nam's total to 431, the Vietnamese Ministry of Health announced on Monday afternoon.
Among the latest patients aged 24 to 70 are four people who are medical workers at the Da Nang General Hospital and the remainder who are the existing in-patients at the hospital’s specialised wards for other diseases, namely Cardiology, Positive Resuscitation, Tropical Medicine and Nephrology – Endocrinology.
Da Nang's new cases were tested positive for the virus earlier today, and all of them are being treated at the Da Nang General Hospital.
Over the past 3 days, the number of cases in the community in Viet Nam has increased to 15, 14 of whom were confirmed in Da Nang, and the remaining one was detected in the central province of Quang Ngai.
Currently, Da Nang's two Covid-19 patients, No. 416 and No 418 in Viet Nam, require critical care at the Da Nang General Hospital and they are put on ventilation.
In total, 276 coronavirus patients in Viet Nam are oversea arrivals and were quarantined upon arrival.
A report of the steering committee’s Treatment Sub-committee showed that 365 patients, or 86.9%, have recovered fully.
Till date, among the active patients in Viet Nam, 5 tested negative for the virus once, and three negative at least twice.
There are currently 11,954 people are close contacts of Covid-19 patients or entering Viet Nam from pandemic-hit regions being quarantined: 232 at hospitals, 10,922 at designated quarantine facilities, and 800 at home.
