More beach services along Nguyen Tat Thanh needed
Beaches stretching the 4km-long extended Nguyen Tat Thanh unique arch-shaped route have great potential for promoting the development of beach tourism.
The Thanh Khe Beach is very inviting to beach-goers |
According to the Da Nang Department of Tourism, the number of tourist arrivals to these beaches is likely to increase by an average of 15% and 20% every year. The main reasons are thought to be that there will be an upward trend in the number of residents moving from rural to urban areas, and there will be a boom in new tourist sites and urban area projects in the city's northwestern part.
However, the tourism potential of these beaches has yet to be fully tapped due to relatively poor investment in infrastructure, coastal serviced accommodations, tourism services, entertainment venues and public utilities. Besides, the beaches are being seriously affected by the stench of untreated waste water.
In order to create make marvellous beaches along the Nguyen Tat Thanh route more appealing to beach-goers, the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Tourism Beaches has already submitted the detailed 1:500 plan for managing and developing beach services along the Nguyen Tat Thanh route over the 2018 - 2020 period to Da Nang government for consideration.
Under the project, 13 tourism service clusters will be developed along beaches in Thanh Khe District, whilst 2 others will be created on the western side of the Xuan Thieu Tourist Area.
The 17mx30m clusters will consist of drinking and eating counters, souvenir shops, watersports services, dressing rooms, fresh water showers, areas for organising events and camps, outdoor playing areas for children, bars and more.
In addition, sports services will be developed on the Thanh Khe, Lien Chieu and Nam O beaches.
Mr Bui Thanh Phu, Director of the Hong Huong Fish Sauce Co Ltd, highlighted the importance of harmonious connection between tourism products along Nguyen Tat Thanh route and the full tapping of tourism potential of the Nam O fish sauce making village and the Nam O Reef to the creation of new tourism products highlighting distinctive regional characteristics and the local culture.
