No new Covid-19 cases recorded in Viet Nam, Patient 91 discharged from hospital

No new coronavirus cases have been recorded across Viet Nam in the past 24 hours, according to figures released by Viet Nam's National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control at 6am on July 12.

The total number of coronavirus cases in Viet Nam remains at 370 with 350 recoveries and no deaths.

On July 11 morning, Patient 91, a 43-year-old British pilot and also the most severe case till date in the country, was discharged from hospital after 115 days undergoing treatment.

He left the Ho Chi Minh City-based Cho Ray Hospital for Ha Noi in the afternoon and is set to return to the UK on a flight of Vietnam Airlines at 11pm on the same day.

In total, 230 of the confirmed cases were overseas arrivals, and they were quarantined on arrival.

Currently, 11,009 people who are close contacts of coronavirus carriers and arrivals from pandemic-hit areas are put under medical monitoring or quarantine across the country, with the majority at designated facilities, 62 at hospital and 406 at their places of residence./.
