Our Da Nang Newspaper Deputy Editor-in-Chief Tran Thi Thu Thuy visited some medical facilities across Da Nang on Monday afternoon in order to hand cash donations of 115 million VND from our readers to support their efforts to fight Covid-19.

The donated money was raised from a livestreamed concert entitled ‘Safe and Sound’ hosted by  domestic singers Lan Nha and Nguyen Ha in Ho Chi Minh City on 8 August. The online concert gained a great deal of attention from internet users with the support of our Da Nang Newspaper.

In details, 30 million VND went to support the 199 Police Hospital under the Ministry of Public Security, 30 million VND to the Hai Chau District Medical Centre, 40 million VND to the Hoa Vang Field Hospital, and 15 million to the fund of the 'Ly Ca Phe Yeu Thuong' (Cup of Compassion Coffee) programme launched by the Da Nang Journalists' Association.

Doctor Quach Huu Trung, the Director of the 199 Police Hospital, thanked the two singers for their kindness and generosity.

Doctor Trung said, apart from providing medical examinations and treatment for local residents and police officers, the hospital's medical workers are receiving and treating non-Covid patients who have been transferred from the Da Nang General Hospital, the C Hospital and the district-level medical facilities.

Da Nang Journalists' Association Vice Chairwoman Phan Hoang Phuong thanked the two singers for their valuable support to the city's journalists on the frontline in the fight against Covid-19. Mr Phuong said that the money will be used to give free portions of meals to frontline journalists citywide.
