The gift recipients included the Union’s poor members; poor social policy beneficiaries in Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts; poor female religious believers; Co Tu women; blind and disabled women; and poor female workers and single mothers at the Hoa Minh apartment building.

Also on the same day, the Union’s representatives provided in-kind donations, totalling 4.5 million VND, for 26 single older women being cared for at the city’s Charity Shelter, as well as gave 11,000 face masks to female market stallholders citywide.

All cash and in-kind donations were come from the fund of the Union-launched fundraising programme entitled ‘Da Nang’s Women - Sharing Love and Warmth’.

The Da Nang Women's Union made its support appeals on 29 July in a bid to raise funds from generous philanthropists across Viet Nam for local women affected by Covid-19 outbreak.

As of 18 August, the Union has received over 965 million VND in cash and in-kind donations from 75 generous individuals and organisations across Viet Nam.
