Viet Nam reports no new Covid-19 cases on 24 September morning

Viet Nam reported no new Covid-19 cases on 24 September morning, keeping the national tally at 1,069, according to the National Steering Committee for Covid-19 Prevention and Control.

Earlier, Viet Nam recorded one imported case of Covid-19 on Wednesday evening.

The latest Covid-19 patient is an 18-year-old girl from Phu Tho Ward, Thu Dau Mot City, the southern province of Binh Duong.

She arrived in Viet Nam on a repatriation flight on 20 September and was quarantined in the northern province of Hung Yen.

Coronavirus tests conducted by the Hung Yen Centre for Disease Control return positive twice on 21-22 September.

The patient is currently being treated at the Dong Anh facility of the National Hospital for Tropical Diseases in Ha Noi.

Among the 1,069 cases, 691 are domestically-transmitted cases, including 551 linked with central Da Nang where the latest coronavirus outbreak began on 25 July.

Also on 23 September, 34 patients have been given the all-clear bringing the total number of recoveries nationwide to 991.

One of those was the final Covid-19 patient from in Da Nang City, meaning there are currently no active cases in the central city.

There have been 35 deaths related to the disease. Most of the fatalities were the elderly with serious underlying health conditions.
