A constantly intensifying cold spell is on course of engulfing many parts of the north and mid-central regional localities, including Da Nang, the Mid-Central Region Centre for Hydro-meteorological Forecasting gave the warning in its latest bulletin.

In Da Nang, a chill is expected to be felt mainly at night and during early mornings in the coming days.

In detail, the districts of Hoa Vang, Cam Le, Lien Chieu, Thanh Khe and Hai Chau will see the mercury plummet to be as low as 19- 21 degrees Celsius, even going down to only 17 - 19 degrees Celsius in their mountainous areas.

Likewise, average lows are projected to fall to 18 - 20 degrees Celsius is reported in the Son Tra and Ngu Hanh Son districts.

Besides, the regional forecasters also made a projection on winds level 3 for parts of Da Nang, whilst winds levels 6 - 7, with a gust of level 8, and heavy rough seas, and sea waves being 2 - 4m high are likely to be seen off the coast of Da Nang.

This unpleasant chilly weather pattern is anticipated to linger into the coming days in the regional localities.

This type of weather is not abnormal as the region enters the winter season. It is recommended that the public across Da Nang dress appropriately during the day and night as the range of temperatures can be significant.

Meanwhile, farmers in mountainous areas usually apply measures to keep their cattle and poultry warm, especially during the evening.
