Contest to seek best solutions to tackle urban challenges launched

All startups, along with students studying in science, technology and technical majors, across Viet Nam, are invited to take part in the Hackathon 2020 themed ‘Smart City - Smart Thinking for the Best Living’.

Launched by the Office of National Program 844 under the Ministry of Science and Technology, the contest aims to seek innovative ideas in such aspects of transport, agriculture, education, healthcare, economics and environment to tackle urban challenges that cities face during their progress.

Under the plan, registered teams, consisting of 3-5 members each, will be answered all the questions relating to the contest at a webinar on 18 December.

Between 18 and 20 December, participating teams will come up with innovative ideas to solve urban problems relating such aspects given by the contest’s organisers.

Three days later, five finalists will be chosen chosen to take part in the Hackathon 2020 final which will take place on 30 December, and they will be required to present their ideas before a panel of judges and answer all questions raised by the judges.

The total prize value will be up to 200 million VND.

Earlier on 29 December, the finalists will perfect and show their product demos before a panel of judges.

During the competition, contestants will have the opportunity to connect with and receive useful advices from advisors, experts, and investors and investment funds at both home and overseas to perfect their ideas.
