Da Nang government will provide more than 10.9 billion VND of funding to build 24 wheelchair ramps in total in a bid to make beaches accessible to the disabled.

The ramps will be constructed on beaches along coastal Vo Nguyen Giap, Hoang Sa, Truong Sa and Nguyen Tat Thanh streets. They will be made of smooth concrete instead of other materials, like wood, that can be uncomfortable for people who use wheelchairs, particularly those who don't have head and neck control.

These “walkways over the sand” allow all patrons young or old with a physical disability or mobility limitation to stroll all the way to the water’s edge easily.

Developed and managed by the Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang Tourism Beach, this project is expected to be carried out during the 2021-2023 period.
