Visiting the construction site of the Hoa Lien Water Plant, Vice Chairman Nam urged relevant agencies to map out the most possible appropriate compensation and clearance plans not later than 1 March so that the construction work can proceed on track.

Till date, the appraisal and approval has been completed for the construction of such major work segments as a raw water pumping station, and pipelines and some parts of the water treatment site, Mr Luong Thach Vy, the Head of the Management Board of the Da Nang Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects, the investor of the Hoa Lien Water Plant project, said.

The 1st stage of the project, which will include the building of a 13,606m2 reinforced concrete spillway on the Cu De River, and a 727m2 raw water pumping station with a daily capacity of 120,000m3 of water, is expected to be completed in June 2021.

Currently, the construction of drains, a sedimentation tank and fences, and the digging of foundations for the raw water pumping station and a management office, at the project are underway.

Also, 1.4m-diameter and 10.616km-long raw water pipelines will be placed underground running from the pumping station in Hoa Bac Commune’s Nam My Village to the water treatment plant in Hoa Lien Commune’s Quan Nam 1 Village.

Besides, mixing, reaction, sedimentation, filtration, storage, sludge compression and chlorine tanks, a polymer mixer, storage houses, warehouses, security houses, and a parking area will be created.
Once fully operational, the project will ensure the delivery of adequate water for homes and businesses in the districts of Lien Chieu, Thanh Khe, Hai Chau, Son Tra, and Hoa Vang.

With regard to the traffic improvement project at the western end of the Tran Thi Ly Bridge, 21.8% of the construction work has been completed till date.

Vice Chairman Nam asked the project’s contractors to speed up the construction progress in tandem with ensuring traffic safety nearby in the construction site.

Covering an area of 131,521m2 in the wards of Hoa Cuong Bac and Hoa Thuan Dong, Hai Chau District, the traffic re-arrangement project borders Binh Minh 6 Street to the north, 29 March to the south, the Han River to the east, and military agencies and residential areas to the west.

As planned, the traffic project will consist of 3 levels. The lowest level will be a 4-lane road tunnel taking Duy Tan under the busy junctions with Le Dinh Tham and the western end of the Tran Thi Ly Bridge. The upper level on ground will be a roundabout, whilst the highest level will be a 14m-wide 4-lane steel overpass over 2 September Street. There will also be two 6m-wide frontage roads at the both sides of the overpass.

The project-affected infrastructure facilities and equipment owned by local government agencies and the city-based armed forces will be removed out of the construction sites in the coming time.
