A contest to cook Quang noodles, one of Da Nang best foods, took place at the Sun World Danang Wonders (Asia Park) at 1 Phan Dang Luu Street on Thursday evening.

As part of the ongoing 'Da Nang Welcomes in New Year 2021' Festival which runs until 2 January, the cooking contest attracted 20 teams from the district-level chapters of the Da Nang Women Union.

Each of the participating teams was required to prepare for 4 bowls of Quang noodles: one for display and the remaining 3 for judges to taste for scoring.

The contest's panel of judges scored entries based on smell, taste, colours, nutrition, preparation, originality, overall appeal, food hygiene and safety, and food processing techniques.

In the end, Hoa Vang District team won the top prize in the cooking contest for their Quang noodles with chicken.

Within the framework of the 5-day 'Da Nang Welcomes in New Year 2021' Festival, a great line-up of vibrant and exciting activities are taking place across the city. Included are street music performances, a ‘Da Nang, New Vitality’ photo exhibition, a parade of eye-catching flower-decorated boats on the iconic Han River, and parades of 40 well-decorated cyclos.
