The Coast Guard ship CSB.9002 sent by the Da Nang Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Mitigation and Control and Search and Rescue is now on urgent mission of searching for a fisherman who had recklessly fell into sea whilst his boat were operating in the waters off Da Nang.

On the morning of 12 January, the fishing boat DNa 90052 TS from Da Nang, with 11 crew members on board, were operating at a location about 40 nautical miles northeast of Da Nang when fisherman 66 -year- old Vo Ngoc Lao had his one finger cut off during an unexpected labour accident, and another, 59-year-old Nguyen Van Hung fell off the boat.

Shortly after the incidents, the boat’s captain, in a prompt fashion, managed to contact search and rescue agencies for first aid and medication guidance for the injured fisherman, in tandem a search for the missing one.

Lao has gradually recovered from his wound after being admitted to hospital for treatment, whilst Hung is now nowhere to be found.
