Founded by some former pupils of the Le Quy Don Senior High School for the Gifted, the ‘Le Quy Don-Connecting Big Arms’ Fund has given financial support to the school’s current poor pupils in a bid to help them continue their studies over the past four years.

Phan Quynh Huong, who is one of the founding members of the Fund and a former pupil of the Le Quy Don Senior High School for the Gifted during the 1992-1995 academic years, remarked that she came up with the idea of such a meaningful fund after receiving a request for help from the Board of Directors of the school to appeal for donations from generous philanthropists to help four of the school’s poor pupils who were able to drop out of school due to their financial hardship.

After donating money to help these pupils, Huong teamed up with her friends and other former pupils to set up the ‘Le Quy Don-Connecting Big Arms’ Fund to support those in need. As a result, between 500,000 VND and one million VND in funding are provided for each of poor pupils depending on their difficult circumstances.

Currently, the Fund has around 100 members, but, the number of regular donors is only about 20.

Huong hoped that, in the coming time, the Fund will receive more financial support from other former pupils of the school in an effort to assist more pupils who need help.
