Da Nang government has issued an official dispatch which demands all local departments, agencies and district-level authorities to continue to ensure best practice of compulsorily protective measures against COVID-19.

The city’s drastic move came amid the complicated developments of the pandemic in many worldwide countries, and especially the fact that Viet Nam has announced some locally-transmitted infections on Thursday after having gone over a month without detecting any community-based transmission.

Some highly noticeable instructions to which the general public must pay special heed are specifically stipulated as below.

The highest possible limit will be set to the organisation of non-essential festivals and events with large public gatherings. If necessary, the event’s organisers must ensure safety measures against COVID-19 in line with Viet Nam's national government-mandated pandemic prevention and control measures.

The public must ensure the strict practice of the Health Ministry-mandated 5K (in Vietnamese) motto: namely ‘Khau trang’ (Face mask) – ‘Khu khuan’ (Disinfection) – ‘Khoang cach’ ‘Distance’ - ‘Khong tu tap’ (No gatherings) – ‘Khai bao y te’ (Health Declaration) in a bid to prevent the spread of the virus.

Strict penalties will be imposed on any violations of Viet Nam's national government-mandated pandemic prevention and control regulations, especially cases of not wearing face masks in public places.

Importance will be attached to implementing drastically, synchronously and effectively the recommended pandemic prevention and control measures with the motto “active prevention, early detection, fast isolation, effective treatment, complete and fast resolution for stablising situation ”.

Heed should be to detecting and strictly handling illegal border jumpers found in the city.

The healthcare sector must continue to carry out random sampling for ‘pool testing’ from those in certain target groups placed at risk of COVID-19 infection.
