A man in Da Nang arrested for supporting foreigners to illegally enter Viet Nam in guise of experts
The Da Nang police on Wednesday arrested an immigrant 34 year-old man named Nguyen Tran Anh Tuan, temporarily residing in Man Thai Ward, Son Tra District, and took him in four-month custody for helping foreigners enter Viet Nam in the guise of experts amid the complicated developments of the virus resurgence in the country.
The Da Nang police issued an arrest warrant for Nguyen Tran Anh Tuan (second, right) on Wednesday |
Previously, during their surprise inspections on April 26, police officers caught red-handed 14 South Korean nationals staying in apartments at The Point Villa on Truong Sa Street, Ngu Hanh Son District, and all of them resided there for wrong purposes going against those stated in their visas.
Further investigations showed that Tuan colluded with a South Korean man who was the director of a company operating in Viet Nam and other accomplices to help South Korean nationals enter Viet Nam.
To secure their Viet Nam entry, each of them must pay a fee of US$ 2,500, including airfare and quarantine cost.
These foreigners worked under the pretence of experts at three companies allegedly owned by Tuan, namely J.D.K. at 84 Nguyen Van Thoai, Mỹ An Ward, and DK Global, and Guppo , both nestled on Vuong Thua Vu Street, Man Thai Ward, Son Tra District.
Also, Tuan faked the signature of Gan Gwang Eun, the Director of MAIN trade and service company, and took this company's seal in order to sponsor three of the South Korean people.
Tuan received a total of $2,400 from this illegal act.
The case is still under further investigation.
Earlier on May 5, the local police detected six illegal Chinese nationals who resided in Khue My Ward under the cloak of experts.
Viet Nam has closed its borders since March last year, but it still accepts entry by Vietnamese repatriates in dire circumstances, foreign diplomats and experts.
