Da Nang imposes fines of up to VND 20 million for making false health declarations
The Da Nang government will impose administrative penalties for failure to comply with the city’s measures to control COVID-19, the Da Nang Department of Justice announced on Tuesday evening. The muncipal government has to put down strict rules to have penalties to enforce them admid surge in cases.
Harsh penalties will be attached to the city’s new measures as part of the city’s drastic ation to stop COVID-19 transmission. Fines of VND 20 million and the criminal consequences will be the maximum penalty for anyone found to have given false information to local health officials.
Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh is urging the public across the city to stay compliant with the 5 recommendations of the Ministry of Health, in which they must ensure the information provided in their health declaration is true and accurate.
Giving false or misleading information intentionally to health officials under the Act to provide for the prevention of the spread of infectious and contagious diseases caused by group A streptococcal infections will carry a fine of between VND 10 million and VND 20 million.
Between VND 1 million and VND 3 million will be imposed to those who provide false information for health workers under the Infectious Diseases Act.
Fines between VND 5 million and VND 10 million will be applied to those found to have falsified information under the Epidemic Diseases Act.
A financial penalty of between VND 5 million and VND 10 million will be charged for those who break the city’s COVID-19 rules.
Criminal consequences will be the maximum penalty for persons with suspected or confirmed COVID-19, and those entering Da Nang from coronavirus-affected areas found to have made misleading declarations under the Act to provide for the prevention of the spread of infectious and contagious diseases.
