Da Nang shuts down Tuy Loan Market linked to suspected COVID-19 case
The temporary closure of the Tuy Loan traditional market took effect at noon Wednesday until further notice after a suspected COVID-19 case had frequently gone shopping at this urban market, Hoa Vang District People's Committee Vice Chairman Phan Van Ton said.
On Wednesday afternoon, a combined total of 570 stall holders, staff members of the market’s management board, sanitation workers and those staffing at parking lots at this market had their throat and nose swab samples collected for COVID-19 testing.
All the tested people were required to strictly comply with the compulsory measures against COVID-19, including making health declarations, wearing facemasks, disinfecting their hands, keeping a safe distance from others, and joining the queue whilst waiting for their turns to have their swabs taken.
In addition, they were asked to stay at home and limit their contact with others pending their test results which are expected to be released tomorrow.
The spraying of chemical disinfectants has been conducted in this market and its surroundings in order to curb the spread of the virus.
