Da Nang tightens management of collection, transportation, treatment of infectious medical waste amid COVID-19 threat
The Da Nang Department of Natural Resources and Environment has urged relevant local agencies to make joint coordination in collecting, transporting and treating waste discharged from medical facilities, designated quarantine facilities. and places under lockdown, a move to proactively curb the further spread of the COVID-19.
As per instructions from the Department of Health, preventive medicine centres across the city have to release professional guidance on the collection and gathering of waste inside all sealed off areas in accordance with the national regulations.
Meanwhile, the Da Nang Urban Environment Joint Stock Company is required to distribute an appropriate number of trash bins, and ensure that the waste transportation is carried out within 24 hours to the treatment site by specialised vehicles that meet the technical regulations licensed by the hazardous waste treatment agency.
