Lien Chieu District Medical Centre temporarily suspended over links to COVID-19 case

The Lien Chieu District Medical Centre at 525 Ton Duc Thang, Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, Da Nang, suspended its operation from 0:00am today, May 12, until further notice due to its links to a COVID-19 positive case, confirmed doctor Le Van Sy, the centre’s Director.

Under its suspension order, all medical examination, treatment and emergency activities, including health checkup for screening of COVID-19, are now being halted at this medical centre.

Doctor Sy explained that the parent of a child patient who is being treated in the Pediatrics Department has tested positive for the virus. This person, on May 10, visited the medical centre for taking care of the child.

“We have sealed off the entire Pediatrics Department accommodating three patients and two caretakers, and all medical staff inside”, said doctor Sy.

Also on Wednesday, the collection of a throat and nose swab of all staff, patients and their caretakers at the Lien Chieu District Medical Centre for COVID-19 testing is underway.

Those who once visited to the Pediatrics Department of the above-mentioned medical centre for medical checkups, treatment, or taking care of patients, and other purposes during 7:00am - 9:00am on May 6, 9:00am - 11:30am on May 8, 7:50am - 8:30am on May 10, and from 8:30 am on May 10 to 8:00pm on May 11 must urgently contact their nearest medical facilities in Da Nang for COVID-19 testing and appropriate medical interventions.
