Additional 46 people contracting COVID-19 confirmed on July 18
On Sunday, July 18, Da Nang registered 46 new COVID-19 cases, thus bringing the total infections recorded in the city to 282 since June 18 when a local man was confirmed contracting the virus after many days of no community transmissions in the city, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control reported. All of them are linked to 6 existing infection chains detected in the city.
Of the total 46 confirmed patients, 22 are liked to an coronavirus-infected female worker in the Viet Hoa Electronics Company based in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District, whilst 16 are related to a infection cluster on Nguyen Phuoc Nguyen Street, An Khe Ward, Lien Chieu District.
Also on Sunday, a total of 37,000 people across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing.
For the time being, there are over 1,700 primary and more than 2, 600 secondary contacts of COVID-19 patients across the city. All of the primary or close contacts are monitored at concentrated quarantine facilities, whilst the secondary contacts are under self-quarantine at their places of residence.
Currently, 76 domestic and imported COVID-19 patients are being treated in the Da Nang Lung Hospital whilst 163 others are receiving care at the Hoa Vang Medical Centre.
