Da Nang adds 29 COVID-19 locally-acquired coronavirus infections on July 20
On Tuesday, July 20, Da Nang registered 29 new COVID-19 cases, thus bringing the total infections recorded in the city to 251 since July 10 when a local man in Cam Le District’s Hoa Xuan Ward was confirmed contracting the virus after many days of no community transmissions in the city, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control reported.
Of the total 29 confirmed patients, 16 are liked to an coronavirus-infected female worker in the Viet Hoa Electronics Company based in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District, of whom whilst 15 were detected during their stay in the city’s designated concentrated quarantine medical establishments.
Till date, the mummer of positive cases relating to the infection chain at the Viet Hoa Electronics Company has climbed to 100. This infection chain is very highly transmissible, the local authorities warned.
The 13 remaining ones are linked to the infection chains in Cam Le and Thanh Khe Districts.
Also on Sunday, a total of over 45,200 people across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing.
For the time being, there are over 2,000 primary and more than 3,000 secondary contacts of COVID-19 patients across the city. All of the primary or close contacts are monitored at concentrated quarantine facilities, whilst the secondary contacts are under self-quarantine at their places of residence.
Currently, 89 domestic and imported COVID-19 patients are being treated in the Da Nang Lung Hospital whilst 200 others are receiving care at the Hoa Vang Medical Centre.
Also on Tuesday, nearly VND50 million in fines were imposed on 16 cases for going against COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.
