Da Nang conducts COVID-19 testing on meat, fish stall holders at all wet markets

Following approval by Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Le Trung Chinh, COVID-19 testing drives are being conducted on all meat and fish stall holders in wet markets across the city.

From Friday night till early morning of Saturday, a total of 1,611 fishermen, traders drivers, and others operating in the Tho Quang fishing wharf and the Da Nang seafood wholesale market. In Son Tra Market had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing.

Previously, on Friday afternoon, the sampling was carried out all traders selling pork, beef and chicken at markets across Son Tra District following the detection of some positive COVID-19 cases at the Da Son Slaughterhouse located in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District.

On Saturday morning, the Son Tra District People's Committee announced that all 262 butchers had tested negative for the coronavirus.

According to the municipal Department of Health, for the time being, the Tho Quang fishing wharf the Da Nang seafood wholesale market, and the Da Son slaughterhouse are facing a very high coronavirus infection risk, and all off them may be linked to other traditional markets across the city.
