Da Nang logs additional 30 COVID-19 cases on July 17
On Saturday, July 17, Da Nang registered 30 new COVID-19 cases, thus bringing the total infections recorded in the city to 235 since June 18 when a local man was confirmed contracting the virus after many days of no community transmissions in the city, the municipal Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control reported.
Of the total 30 confirmed patients, nine are liked to an coronavirus-infected female worker in the Viet Hoa Electronics Company based in the Hoa Khanh Industrial Park, Lien Chieu District, whilst the remaining ones are the close contacts of previously-detected patients.
Till date, the mummer of positive cases relating to the infection chain at the Viet Hoa Electronics Company has climbed to 40. This infection chain is very highly transmissible, the local authorities warned.
Notably, another prominent infection cluster linked to a female resident in Hoa An Ward, Cam Le District is yet to be put under control with 17 positive cases till date.
Also on Saturday, a total of 18,269 people across the city had their nasal swab samples taken for COVID-19 testing.
