Chairman Chinh highlighted the huge efforts the health agency and relevant units have put in enforcing COVID-19 rules across the city in line with guidelines on shielding and protecting people from the deadly virus from municipal and national governments.

The city government leader also called for continued steps for managing the risk of COVID-19 in the city amid growing outbreak in the country with a focus on making sure that each individual is following best practices to keep themselves and others safe or faces strictest penalties for non-compliance.

Mr Chinh remarked that the government has approved proposals for lifting lockdown order on around 471 families with more than 1,650 people in the ring-fencing COVID-19 hotspot at the triangle-shaped area of Le Duan - Hoang Hoa Tham - Ly Thai To streets after tests on these people have come back negative for the virus.

The ring fence will remain in place at the alleys 405 and 407 in Le Duan Street with more than 670 people from 168 households, Mr Chinh noted.

Chairman Chinh said the government will look at the latest advice from officials of the municipal Department of Labour, Invalids and Social Affairs to adopt support packages for those affected or deprived due to the COVID-19 epidemic.

“In parallel with the adoption of drastic measures to contain the spread of the virus, Da Nang is calling on the national government to expand support for it to seek COVID-19 vaccine sources to hold mass vaccination programme. The focus will be paid on offering everyone in the top priority groups in the city, including those working in manufacturing and service sectors in order to stimulate economic growth in times of COVID-19”, Mr Chinh said.
