At around 11:30 am on Wednesday, July 21, flight VN122, operated by the national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines, landed at the Da Nang International Airport, bringing home the first 168 Da Nang natives. These people had been stuck in HCMC, the largest COVID-19 epicentre in Viet Nan for the time being.

Today is witnessing 3 repatriation flights carrying a combined total of Da Nang residents back to their hometowns.

Such flights are organised by the Da Nang government and the Association of Da Nang Compatriots in HCMC amid the complicated developments of COVID-19 in the country’s largest metropolis and southern provinces.

Da Nang citizens who receive assistance for their home combacks free of charge also receive VND 500,000 each in financial support, and get COVID-19 tests and medical care at no cost.

Functional forces are seen on duty at the airport to guide the passengers to board a transit vehicle.

During the flight and upon their arrivals at the airport, the passengers are required to wear protective outfits in accordance with the national COVID-19 prevention and control regulations.

The Da Nang citizens are supported to return to their hometown this time are mainly labourers and their children.

The people must complete medical declaration procedures and go through thermal screening scanners before moving out.

Many families with young children are supported to return to their hometown on this occasion.

Elderly and disabled people are facilitated by functional forces during their transportation to hotels which are temporarily designated for medical quarantine.

Functional forces actively guide the people to hotels.
