Deputy Secretary Triet directed the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the Department of Industry and Trade to work together to ensure smooth supply of seafood across the city without any disruption during period of Tho Quang Fishing Wharf closure.

Mr Triet called for enhanced monitoring of trading activities in order to make sure that no temporary and spontaneous seafood markets are formed during the shutdown of the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf.

He also urged the health agency to quickly identify all contacts of confirmed cases linked to the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf and even their relatives, and conduct tests for them. Mr Triet also called for stronger action to address violations of COVID-19 regulations.

Municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh said that driven by the more transmissible delta variant, COVID hotspots are spreading in Da Nang, including the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf.

Mr Chinh said that the municipal government has decided to shut the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf for 7 days, starting from 3pm today (July 26).  He also asked the health agency to conduct COVID-19 tests for all traders and workers in the Tho Quang Fishing Wharf and the Da Son Slaughterhouse within tomorrow (July 27).

The city government leader called for increased checks and monitoring of the Da Son Slaughterhouse to make sure that this venue is implementing best practices of COVID-19 control measures or face strictest penalties for non- compliance.
